Why don’t you give your services free when you claim that you are working for the welfare of people around the world? This question I encountered so many times and hoping to get across the same in future too. Still I want to answer this. There are three principles behind it.
Number one that i repeat so many times, i.e. everything is energy. Everything around us is energy be it a living or non- living is the form of energy. For e.g., if you something bad to another person, you might feel good or bad about it. This effect of energy, it follows around you all time and influence your mind, body and spirit. If you stop or block this, it will result into some pain, suffering be it physical, mental or spiritual. Where there is no energy flow, it is dead. If you want to thrive life in anything, it must have flow of energy. In the same way if do not charge or accept anything for my service, I am blocking this energy and this will cause stress in my life as well as in the client life.
Number two, I am not empowered enough to take care of pains of everybody in the world. Even nobody in the world is empowered enough, if so then all the great saints and the visionary had already taken up all the pains and sorrows of the world and the world will be best place to live with all happiness, health, and wealth. We have seen scholars in India, such as Buddha, Adi shanker, Guru Nanak, Kabir, Tulsidas, Sai Baba in past centuries and in present such as Bhagwaan Rajnish, Charan Singh, Dalai Lama, Sri Sri Ravishankar, Jaggi Sadhguru and so on. Are they not happy to make world better place or they don’t want to do so or they are incapable to do so? Answer is everybody have to reap their karmas, of this life or of past.
Number three, don’t accept anything that comes free to you. In the ancient time, in Gurukul system, Gurus taught pupils free. After completion of their education, pupils have to pay Guru-dakshina. In this guru can ask anything or may allow the pupil to pay as per his wish. Guru Dronacharya, asked thumb of Eklavya and because of which he did not became best archer, irrespective of fact he was far better than Arjuna. See how dangerous is these freebies. Although there is, nothing comes free in this world except water, air, and nature’s fruit (even now a days they are also not free anymore). See what we have done with these gifts, water and air pollution is big issues around the world. Even in the marketing sector, it is the biggest secret i.e give something free to customer, and charged more for the stuff he or she buys. NOTHING IS FREE. We human do not value, anything free, if we get it we just exploit it for our benefit only irrespective of the fact the gift is depleting and it have power to vanish us. Thus, do not accept gifts as they have power to vanish us. If you getting anything free show your gratitude, pay in money or kind but pay. For our mother Earth we can pay back by planting more trees, stop polluting it, do not throw rubbish in river, stop wasting water, electricity, food etc. Even you have to pay back your parents who raised us, show your gratitude towards them, pamper them with love and gifts, or whatsoever you can do as per abilities and capabilities.
Conclusion: -Don’t block the flow of energy…………….
