Covid Pandemic- New Normal or Normal Normal

Published: September 30, 2021

This year started with the Covid pandemic, first in a small part of the world and then spread all over the world. Life of all has changed upside down. They are forced to sit at home and work from home, they forced to stop socializing, keep distance, respect hygiene regimes, and so on.. But if I looked into my life, there is nothing much changed. I am the same person, as was before the pandemic. I am following the same routine, work, and even social interaction norms.

  1. Respecting hygiene regimes

I always know the importance of hygiene. This is what we all learned at our school level but there are very few who followed it religiously. I did my Masters in biotechnology and a project dissertation in microbiology, thus having in-depth knowledge of how and which microorganisms can be dangerous for our health and how to protect ourselves. I do not know how many of you were using sanitizers or masks before this pandemic; I am in practiced keeping my hands clean for a long time. My parents used to call me hyper-paranoid as I have a habit of cleaning switchboards, handles of doors, etc. I never touched the public toilet door or flush button or tap directly. The market for sanitizers has risen in this pandemic only, but even before this so call sanitizer; I used to use rubbing alcohol as my sanitizer.

  1. Restricted socialization and work from home

I am not a very social person. I like to be at the home and be in peace. Big gatherings never attract me. If I ever get two options i.e to go to a party and another to be at home, I blindly choose the second option. Also, I am in such kind of work, which is being already done from home only. Thus, my work has also not suffered because of Covid.

  1. Learning through an online platform

Learning is a part of human life, and so is mine. During this Pandemic, I got more opportunities to explore different and unrelated niches of learning from tarot card reading to digital marketing, leadership to parenting skills, mandala art to paper art, and so on. The courses, which I always want to, do or the courses that I never thought I ever do, all come to my place at my comfort of timing. Learning is, of course, increased in this period.

  1. Spending quality time with family

This is also part of my normal life. We as parents took an effort to make sure that we will give quality time and attention to our kids. We may sure to be connected with her in very simple ways such as keep talking with her, watching her favorite TV show together, taking interest in her sense & nonsense talk, singing rhythms with her, listening to her made-up stories, doing painting, dancing with her, telling bedtime stories and so on (your ways to connect with kids may be different giving regard to his or age, but still mentioned above are the golden ways which can apply on the kid of any age. Also as partners, we keep our communication always open and do not hesitate in sharing our feeling, viewpoints, likes, dislikes, successes, failures, or any stupid stuff, without the baggage of being judged. Communication is the key to a healthy relationship.

Thus, in nutshell, nothing has changed for me. I was seeing this world as beautiful, potential, and caring before the pandemic and even after the pandemic.
